Day 1: Gateway to Safari — Arrival in Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you clear customs before being met outside the arrivals hall by your driver-guide for the transfer into Arusha. Set at the foot of Mount Meru amid former coffee plantations on the shores of Lake Duluti, this gateway city marks the start of Tanzania's famed Northern Safari Circuit. Your lodge for the night sits within landscaped grounds designed in the style of a colonial-era coffee farm, offering an easy, low-key first evening to settle in after your flight. Optional walking, mountain biking and canoeing on the lake are available on request, a gentle introduction to the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Into the Rift — Lake Manyara National Park
Spend the morning at leisure, with optional activities available direct, before a safari briefing and lunch precede your afternoon departure for Lake Manyara National Park. As Arusha's outskirts give way to open plains dotted with grass-thatched huts and grazing cattle, the towering wall of the Great Rift Valley rises on the horizon ahead. Lake Manyara itself, a shallow alkaline lake covering much of the park's 330 square kilometers, supports large herds of elephant, buffalo, giraffe and zebra, along with tree-climbing lions and more than 400 recorded bird species. Arrive at your lodge on the escarpment rim for dinner, overlooking the park below.
Day 3: Endless Plains — Onward to the Serengeti
A morning game drive through Lake Manyara National Park precedes a return to the lodge for lunch, before departing for the Serengeti. Beyond Naabi Gate, the park's official entrance, game viewing continues en route to your lodge for the evening. The Serengeti spans roughly 14,750 square kilometers of savannah grassland and is home to all of Africa's Big Five, alongside cheetah, hyena and the vast herds that make up the annual wildebeest migration, one of the natural world's great spectacles. The Maasai people have called this landscape home for centuries, and their presence remains woven into the fabric of the plains.
Day 4: Above the Plains — A Day in the Serengeti
