Built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse and converted into a luxury hotel in 1990, the V&A Hotel is named in honour of the Queen of England and her son who visited the Cape in 1870 when Prince Alfred officially opened the Breakwater Basin – today’s Victoria & Alfred Waterfront
The city of Cape Town is a rare cultural gem, resulting from the amalgamation of Indonesian, French, Dutch, British and German settlers, the local Bushman and Hottentot tribes and the Bantu tribes from the north.

DAY 5, 6 & 7: RHINO WALKING SAFARIS – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK (3 X NIGHTS)
A transfer to the airport for your direct flight into the Kruger Park – on arrival at Kruger Mpumulanga International Airport you will be met and transferred to camp.
Rhino Walking Safaris lets you discover nature’s hidden wonders in specially tailored walking trails through a 12,000 ha private wilderness concession within the Kruger Park. The concession shares a 15km unfenced boundary with the famous Mala Mala and Sabi Sand reserve with an abundance of wildlife moving freely between the two reserves. The concession is noted as an excellent game viewing area and good sightings can be expected of most predators, antelope and elephant.
Accommodation will be at Plains Camp which is the smaller property and offers just four, luxury African explorer-style tents overlooking the spectacular Timbitene plains and waterhole. The camp is built in authentic pioneer tradition (tents) and is raised on wooden decks. Stylishly decorated, the 8-bed camp offers the tranquility of a 19th century naturalist’s retreat. An Africana book collection and antique treasures are reminiscent of a golden era a la Ernest Hemingway.
The Kruger National Park boasts the world’s greatest concentration and diversity of species. Rhino Walking Safaris allows guests the opportunity to encounter all the classical African big game including the Big Five: buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and black and white rhino. In addition there are also hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, warthog and many antelope species.
ON YOUR THIRD & FINAL NIGHT – SLEEP OUT:-
This is the only place in the Kruger National Park offering this unusual accommodation - guests will leave Plains Camp in the late afternoon and arrive at the platforms in the early evening carrying a lightweight rucksack containing a change of clothes and refreshments.
After hanging up mosquito nets, fly sheets (only if necessary) and preparing beds (yes! guests are encouraged to be actively involved in every aspect of this unique interactive experience of the bush) - sundowners can be enjoyed on the platforms that also overlook a waterhole.
While dinner is being prepared for guests discussion takes place around an open fire, where you will witness the sounds and senses of the night-time bush. After dinner guests settle into their “open decks” and your senses are heightened as you listen to the absolute quiet calm of the wilderness at night, while being safely guarded by our observant guides.
The rumble of the elephant passing by or the roar of the lion at the nearby waterhole, are the only noises that might disturb guests in this peaceful wilderness. The following morning, guests will enjoy a light snack after which they will depart back to Plains Camp for a hearty brunch.
DAY 8 & 9: KWARA CAMP – OKAVANGO DELTA (2 X NIGHTS)
You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Maun either via Livingstone or Johannesburg. On arrival you will be met and assisted. An air charter will fly you across the Delta to your camp.
PLEASE NOTE:
LUGGAGE IS RESTRICTED TO 20KGS (44 lbs) PER PERSON IN SOFT BAGS. CLIENTS WEIGHING OVER 100 KGS (22O lbs) WILL NEED TO HAVE SPECIAL SEAT REQUIREMENTS AT AN EXTRA COST.
Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a huge floodplain, adjacent to the permanent water of the Delta and is backed by extensive bush. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres, bordering the Moremi Reserve. No trip to Botswana is complete without a visit to the Delta, the shimmering and unique watery jewel in the middle of the Kalahari desert. Kwara encompasses a wide diversity of habitats, ranging from the clear Delta waters with reed-lined lagoons and channels, to open grasslands, mopane woodlands and palm-fringed islands.
The eight luxury safari-style tents are built on raised decks, within a grove of huge and ancient African Ebony trees. Resident hippos will generally serenade all year round from the water on the floodplain in front of the camp. Each tent has its own viewing deck, private en-suite facilities including hot and cold running showers, flush toilets and modern amenities.
The forested island on which the camp sits is typical of those encountered throughout the vast 1.6 million hectares of the Okavango Delta. At Kwara, you will discover why the Okavango is considered one of the ecological wonders of Africa and indeed the world. It is mysterious, calming, unpredictable and very wild.
DAY 10, 11 & 12: LEBALA CAMP – OKAVANGO DELTA (3 X NIGHTS)
A short drive will form part of a game drive taking you through to Lebala Camp.
Lebala means wide open spaces in Setswana and the scenery is dominated by vast plains with scattered palms and tree clumps backed by wooded savannas. This wild expanse is contrasted with the casual comfort & elegance of Lebala Camp.
Open grasslands scattered with Illala Palms stretch to the south and west of Lebala. The perennial and southerly flowing Kwando river disappears into the vast marshes before emerging as the Linyanti river, flowing in a north easterly direction. The triangle formed in Namibia by this direction change is home to the Mamili National Park.
The eight spacious tents are unique and were designed specifically for this camp. Each one is built on a raised teak deck, laid out with maximum comfort and privacy in mind. The tents have an entrance foyer with a reading and writing area, en-suite bathrooms with Victorian clawfoot bathtubs, "his and hers" washbasins and flush toilets. The bathrooms lead out to a reed enclosed open-air shower with hot and cold running water, powered by LP gas for hot water on demand.
Each secluded tent has its own sundeck, and is set back among the trees. The endless vistas from the large windows and decks across the vast plains, make Lebala one of the finest wilderness camps in Africa.
The wetlands and flood plains around Lebala offer a wonderful variety of wildlife with excellent sightings of elephant, hippo, lechwe, zebra, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, kudu, tsessebe, roan, sable, buffalo and the ever present predators; wild dog, lion, cheetah and hyena.
After dark, spotlights are switched on and the game drives expose guests to nocturnal sightings of rare and elusive species such as, leopard, small spotted genet, and aardwolf, to name a few.
DAY 13 & 14: SUSSI & CHUMA – LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA (2 X NIGHTS)
An air charter will fly through to Kasane and a road transfer will take you across the Zambezi River to the camp of Sussi & Chuma.
Sussi & Chuma is named after David Livingstone’s faithful companions and consist of an intimate lodge and two exclusive houses, all of which are situated to make the most of the amazing views that the sweeping Zambezi River provides.
Guest accommodation consists of 12 luxury tree houses built into the canopy of majestic ebony trees, which shelter a stunning variety of bird life. Each unit has a private view of the Zambezi River and is en-suite with air conditioning, mini bar, mosquito nets, overhead fan & hairdryer.
The central lodge building features a raised bar/lounge deck, open air dining area, curio shop, swimming pool and a spa which provide incredible views of the mighty Zambezi. Meals are table d’hote with a wide variety of dishes available, served alfresco, often around a roaring fire in the evening.
